About me

Hi, I’m Emily,

Scientist by day and sound and yoga wizard by night/weekend. I am owned by two tiny black and white cats, happiest when in nature with sunshine on my face or with a cup of tea, blanket and book

Yoga is my calm space, my happy space, the place where I find release, the place for meeting myself, for reflection, for self compassion, for finding my inner power. I am grateful for yoga’s lessons and love.

However, up until 2014 I hadn’t experienced the magic of yoga. I started practicing on a recommendation from my aerial hoop teacher as a way to heal my body after a car accident. It didn’t take long before it started to heal my mind as well.

I have suffered from mental illness, and during the hardest times in my life, attending yoga classes has been the still pause my mind needed. Without yoga I did not feel well in my mind or my body. At a certain point in my life, close friends could notice when I hadn’t been to yoga.

Fast forward a few years and I found myself recommending yoga to friends and family who were experiencing difficulties in their lives. I wanted to offer the yoga experience  to others and undertook a 250hr yoga teacher training in 2021 with YogaKutir in Bristol.  Through this I fell deeper in love with yoga and connected with many aspects of yoga philosophy.

During my teacher training I really connected with Vedic chanting, mantra and the healing power of sound. I found that it brought unexpected calm and emotional release.

At the beginning of 2022 I completed a sound healing course with Thyme with Charlie, and completed a second course with Shift Meditation in late 2022.

Since then I have been growing and evolving my offerings, training in trauma informed and inclusive yoga teaching, Embodied Rest (yoga nidra and restorative asana) and most recently Shake the Dust.

The knowledge I have gained through my own mental health and physical challenges allows me to offer nourishing and supportive practices that aim to empower you.

It honestly brings me so much joy to share the transformative power of yoga, movement and sound that I am deeply passionate about.

I cannot wait to meet you.
